Argentine river among world’s most polluted

New York-based Blacksmith Institute says Riachuelo river in Buenos Aires is in top 10 worst sites on the planet.

An international environmental group has named the Riachuelo river in Argentina as one of the 10 most polluted sites in the world.

Critics blame Argentine politicians for breaking promises to clean up the Riachuelo, which runs through Buenos Aires.

But those working to clean the waters have reacted angrily, saying progress is being made and that the findings are based on out-of-date information.
