Obama administration drums up Syria support

US President faces daunting task to convince Congress, as majority of Americans oppose intervention.

    The US President, Barack Obama, faces the daunting task of trying to convince politicians returning from summer holidays to agree to on his plans for military strikes on Syria.

    But a majority of Americans still believe the US should not intervene in Syria.
