Facebook headed for record valuation

Social-networking giant set to unveil IPO that will see it acquire market value of $100bn.

The social-networking website Facebook is set to offer its shares for sale on Wall Street in what what could be a record valuation.

In just eight years, Facebook went from being an obscure site for the most elite US universities to cultural ubiquity, with over 900 million global users communicating in over 70 languages.
