NASA probes to map lunar surface

Having launched in September, space crafts prepare to log information about moon's terrain.

NASA scientists will be ringing in the New Year by monitoring two space crafts about to orbit the moon.

The mission is attempting to map the lunar surface, and help us understand how planets are formed.

    Al Jazeera's Andy Gallacher reports.
