US supreme court backs gun rights
Ruling may mean prevailing regional gun control laws may have to go.

The US supreme court has ruled that local and state governments cannot deny an individual’s right to own a gun.
The decision is expected to have wide-ranging implications across the country, particularly in cities trying to quell violent crime.
The ruling also means that prevailing regional gun control laws – some which have been in force for decades – may now have to go.
