Libyan rebels fight for resources

Opposition forces say they need to sell oil in order to finance their struggle against the Gaddafi regime.

Rebel fighters say they need to sell oil in order to finance their anti-regime battle in Libya, which has shifted focus from gaining territory to winning resources.

They say they've surrounded the eastern oil port of Brega and they're also trying to move west from Misurata, but that they don't have resources to protect oil fields.

Al Jazeera's Anita McNaught reports from Libya's eastern desert.
