The human cost of the Afghan war and Taliban attacks

Al Jazeera takes a look at the human cost of the US-led invasion of Afghanistan.

Last year more than 3,400 civilians were killed in Afghanistan. The Taliban were responsible for almost half of those deaths.

Afghan forces and the US were responsible for 43 percent – with last year seeing a record-high level of civilian casualties from air raids, mostly by international forces.

Al Jazeera’s Laura Burdon-Manley takes a look back at the high cost of the war on civilians.
