Qatar slams UAE over detention of royal family member

Qatar‘s human rights committee says the detention of a member of the royal family by the United Arab Emirates is illegal and violates human rights laws.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Thani is the latest in a line of public figures to accuse Abu Dhabi of holding them against their will.

Qatar’s foreign ministry says it is monitoring developments closely.
