Two months ago, the Sao Paolo city government ordered the removal of ‘Cracolandia’ neighbourhood, Brazil’s largest community of drug users and home to nearly 2,000 mostly crack cocaine addicts.
Two months ago, the Sao Paolo city government ordered the removal of Nova Luz, known as “Cracolandia” neighbourhood, Brazil‘s largest community of drug users and home to nearly 2,000 mostly crack cocaine addicts.
Critics say the government wanted to free up the area for development.
