Festival fuses Bolivia’s Catholic and indigenous traditions

Colourful costumes, dancing and a massive feast are among the features of one of the world’s most extravagant festivals held in Bolivia.

The three-day celebration is part of a tradition that began in the 17th century. Catholic and indigenous traditions come together in this festival showcasing Bolivia’s folklore and faith.
