For decades Brazil’s construction giant built public works in more than 10 countries across Latin America.

For decades Brazil’s construction giant, Odebrecht, built public works in more than 10 countries across Latin America, partnering with local companies such as Grana y Montero in Peru.

Over the past few years, Odebrecht was investigated for paying bribes to government officials in order to win contracts, and recently the investigation has spread to Peru and Odebrecht’s Peruvian partner.

A large-scale investigation by  Peru’s parliament commission is showing just how widespread the corruption is.

Investigators say company officials paid millions of dollars in bribes to a former president for government contracts.
