Pope Francis meets Rohingya refugees

Pope Francis has met Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh who fled Myanmar’s military crackdown in Rakhine State.

He apologised for the world’s indifference to their suffering and asked them for forgiveness.

He also used the politically sensitive term “Rohingya” – something he avoided doing while in Myanmar earlier this week.
