Centenary of air travel observed

An informal squadron of vintage aircraft have flown across the English Channel to mark 100 years since the first crossing by Louis Bleriot.

The French aviation pioneer flew from Calais in France to Dover in England in 37 minutes on this day in 1909, heralding a new era of air travel.
