Ramzan Kadyrov, the president of Chechnya, has vowed to oversee an investigation into the murder of Natalia Estemirova, a Russian human rights activist found shot dead after being kidnapped outside her home.
Estemirova’s colleagues at Memorial, the human rights group she worked for, accuse Kadyrov of being responsible for her death.
