Bridge’s battle to be recognised as a sport
England’s governing body for bridge says its promotes healthy minds as the fight reaches the court.

In the week of its world championships, the card game of bridge is fighting for legal recognition as a sport in England.
The English Bridge Union says the game promotes healthy minds and therefore should receive government funding.
But, according to the Oxford dictionary, a ‘sport’ requires some sort of phyiscal exertion and skill.
