Steve Clevenger hit a three-run homer while Chris Tillman won his seventh straight decision as the Baltimore Orioles beat the Oakland Athletics 4-2.

Clevenger’s three-run homer, which came off A’s starter Sonny Gray (12-5), gave the Orioles a 3-1 lead in the fourth inning.

That proved enough for Tillman (9-7) to win.

The right-hander gave up two runs, homers by third baseman Danny Valencia and left fielder Mark Canha, and three hits in seven innings.

Elsewhere, Danny Salazar continued his marvellous run of pitching while right fielder Lonnie Chisenhall drove in three runs to lead the Indians to an 8-2 rout of the Boston Red Sox.

Salazar (11-6) allowed a run on four hits in seven innings, yielding only a home run to first baseman Travis Shaw that gave Boston a 1-0 lead in the third inning.

Jake Lamb homered to lead the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 4-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
