India fall in Test rankings after Bangladesh draw
Kohli’s team falls one spot to fourth after the rain-affected one-off Test where only 184.2 overs were possible.
India have fallen to fourth in the rankings following a rain-affected draw against Bangladesh in the one-off Test.
The hosts were forced to follow-on after India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin claimed a five-wicket haul during the fifth and final day.

Ashwin returned figures of 5-87, his 10th Test five-wicket haul, as Bangladesh was bowled out for 256 in their first-innings in reply to India’s 462-6.
A result was still unlikely with just 30 overs to be played in the match. But steady defence and bad light ensured the match ended in draw as the hosts finished on 23-0 at close.
For Bangladesh, opener Imrul Kayes top-scored with 72 in the first-innings, his third Test half-century.
Offspinner Harbahjan Singh took 3-64.
“Our approach was good … but we couldn’t apply ourselves properly,” said Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim.
“Most of our batsmen got the start but couldn’t carry [on].”
After Bangladesh resumed on 111-3 overnight, Ashwin got success in just the third over of the day when he dismissed Shakib Al Hasan, undone by an extra bounce.
When he was on four, Shakib became the first Bangladesh player to score 2,000 runs and take 100 wickets on home soil in his 28th home Test.
“Ashwin and Harbhajan are quality spinners, so watching them both bowl together is very pleasing for a captain,” said India captain Virat Kohli.
“They put batsmen under pressure throughout.”
