The Tour of Qatar has put competitors up against a route that includes historical sites, a racing track, the corniche and the desert.
The course may be flat but the desert route has been giving the riders a far from easy time. As did the sand storm.
Sarah Coates spent the day with one of the sport’s emerging teams.
