Rising NFL star Husain Abdullah risked jeopardising his career when he took a year off to do Hajj, the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca.
As a practising Muslim, he fasts during Ramadan.
In this interview with Al Jazeera, Abdullah talks about balancing religion with football, an approach not everyone in the USA can accept, according to the Kansas City Chiefs player.
