The Los Angeles Lakers hit a new low when they lost by 48 points to the Clippers in a 142-94 defeat – the biggest loss ever for the Lakers franchise.
It was also the biggest margin in the history of meetings between the two Los Angeles teams, eclipsing the previous record 46-point victory by the Lakers over the Clippers in 1979.
Forward Blake Griffin finished with 20 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists.
Clippers coach Doc Rivers removed all of his starters before the end of the third quarter.
Elsewhere, the San Antonio Spurs dominated the final quarter to beat the Miami Heat 111-87, posting their first win of the season over any of the other four teams with the best records in the NBA.
The oldest of the Spurs, 37-year-old forward Tim Duncan, produced 23 points and 11 rebounds.
Gerald Green scored a career-high 41 points and Goran Dragic had seven of his 22 points in the final two-and-a-half minutes to help the Phoenix Suns beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 128-122.
