Rockets cut short by Clippers

Blake Griffin scored 23 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Houston Rockets 101-93.

The Clippers (40-20) beat the Rockets for the third straight time while the Rockets (39-19) lost for only the second time in 12 games.

Elsewhere, Taj Gibson scored 21 points to lead the Chicago Bulls to an easy 103-83 victory over the Golden State Warriors.

Kyrie Irving posted 31 points and nine assists to lead Cleveland to a 114-104 win over Oklahoma City.

Riding high off a three-game road sweep, the Mavericks beat New Orleans 108-89. 

San Antonio returned home from a nine-game road trip to knock off the Detroit Pistons 120-110.

The Memphis Grizzlies won their season-high fourth straight home game by defeating the Los Angeles Lakers 108-103.

Jerryd Bayless scored 21 of his season-high 29 points in the second half as the Boston Celtics snapped a five-game losing streak with a 115-104 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.

Veteran guard Jameer Nelson scored 12 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter as the Orlando Magic beat the Philadelphia 76ers 101-90 to snap a franchise single-season worst, 16-game road losing streak.

Mo Williams came off the bench for a season-high 21 points to go with seven assists and six rebounds as the Portland Trail Blazers blew away the Brooklyn Nets 124-80.

Shooting guard Gordon Hayward flirted with his first triple-double, finishing with 17 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists, and seven Jazz players scored in double figures in Utah’s 109-86 victory over the Phoenix Suns.
