San Antonio’s Patty Mills again proved himself to be the Spurs’ secret weapon as he led the visitors to a 111-109 win at Portland.

A day after he guided San Antonio to a win over another contender in the Los Angeles Clippers, Australian Mills was the standout again for the Spurs, coming off the bench to score 24 points in the second half.

Elsewhere, Minnesota’s Kevin Love had 42 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Timberwolves to a 104-91 win over Indiana, while Chicago made it four-straight wins by edging Toronto 94-92.

Houston’s Dwight Howard got 20 points and 13 rebounds as the Rockets beat the Lakers 134-108.

Washington almost blew a 20-point lead against Atlanta but steadied to win 114-97.

Phoenix had six players in double figures as they beat Boston 100-94.

Golden State held off Sacramento 101-92 in a clash of two undermanned teams, with David Lee having 23 points and 11 rebounds for the Warriors.
