Egypt’s fractured footballing future

The future is hard to contemplate for supporters of Egypt’s premier football club Al Ahly after deadly riot.

Hundreds of Al Ahly fans have been gathering at their team’s Cairo headquarters to remember those killed during Wednesday’s stadium disaster.

All football has been suspended in Egypt as an investigation into the violence at Al Masry’s stadium gets underway but some fear that cancelling the season will do more harm than good.
