South Africa’s dwindling hopes
Al Jazeera’s Paul Rhys sees the mood in Johannesburg go from joy to pain as Bafana lose.

Al Jazeera’s Paul Rhys reports from Johannesburg as the prospect of a dream World Cup run by the hosts’ Bafana Bafana team turns to dread that South Africa will be the worst-ever home nation.
A 3-0 defeat to Uruguay is the heaviest inflicted on a home nation since 1970.
Even a victory against 2006 runners-up France in the last group game may not be enough to see the hosts through.
