Argentina finished top of football’s world rankings in 2007, winning Fifa’s team of the year in the process.
The final rankings from football’s world governing body had an unchanged top 10 from November’s list.
Argentina was first with 1,523 points, followed by Brazil with 1,502 and world champion Italy with 1,498.
The rest of the top 10 was rounded out by Spain, Germany, Czech Republic, France, Portugal, Netherlands and Croatia.
European champion Greece stayed 11th with 1,114, one point ahead of England.
The United States remained in 19th place with 876 points.
The best mover of the year was Mozambique, rising up 53 places to 75th.
Fifa said 901 international matches had been played so far this year.
