Paragliding is a sport few dare or have the opportunity to take up but it's provided unlikely career escape to one.

    Alois Marume is having the time of his life. 

    On a beautiful summer day in the Cape, the 28 year old is taking his maiden solo flight.

    Marume has quickly established himself as one of the rising stars in a sport with a small but devoted following.

    But his journey didn't start out smoothly.
