Okposo’s career-best seals Islanders’ win

Right winger Kyle Okposo scored a career-high four goals, including three in the third period, as the New York Islanders stormed from behind to beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 6-3.

The Islanders (30-13-1) banged in four unanswered goals in the third period to move into first place in the Eastern Conference.

Elsewhere, Anaheim dominated as right winger Jakob Silfverberg scored two goals, and goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov notched his first victory since rejoining the Ducks in a 5-1 home win over the New Jersey Devils.

A pair of third-period goals 28 seconds apart by Bryan Little and Chris Thorburn broke open a tie and led the Winnipeg Jets to a 4-2 road win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Defenceman Marc Staal and center Chris Kreider scored for the New York Rangers in a 2-1 road win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
