Kahn blasts Klinsmann

Bayern Munich captain Oliver Kahn criticised Juergen Klinsmann for attending one of the team’s games before taking over as coach next season.
Klinsmann visited Bayern on Thursday and attended the 1-1 draw with Getafe in the first leg of the UEFA Cup quarterfinals.
Kahn is retiring at the end of the season and won’t be around when Klinsmann takes over from Ottmar Hitzfeld next term.
“I’ve never seen or heard in my entire career that a coach who will take over next season comes and sits in the stands while the current season is still going on,” Kahn told Munich newspaper Abendzeitung.
The two men have had a tense relationship since then-Germany coach Klinsmann demoted Kahn to make Jens Lehmann the No. 1 goalkeeper for the national team ahead of the 2006 World Cup.
Kahn told the newspaper the players had not been informed that Klinsmann would attend the game.
“You just don’t do that,” Kahn said, describing Klinsmann’s move as being “without class.”
Former Bayern star Lothar Matthaeus said Klinsmann had broken a “code of honour” among coaches by appearing at the game.
Klinsmann visited the front office Thursday to present one of his new scouts, Nick Theslof of the United States, and to meet with his future goalkeeping coach, Walter Junghans.
