As countries around the world continue to be adversely affected by climate change, Iran last year began to take proactive steps toward lowering its carbon footprint, according to Iranian Vice President Masoumeh Ebtekar.

"We are working in terms of our industrial infrastructure to be able to face climate change, and to be able to build resilient economies and resilient societies," says Ebtekar, who also heads the country's Environmental Protection Organisation.
