We’ll update one of our biggest stories of the year as it continues to slip off the radar. MSF is the first organisation to try to authoritatively assess how many people have been killed during the crisis, estimating that 6,700 Rohingya were killed between 25 August and 24 September. Now, a deal between Bangladesh and Myanmar to start returning Rohingya to Myanmar by January 23rd has come under criticism. So, how can the Rohingya live in safety? And where?

Catalans vote on Thursday for the first time since the country’s worst political crisis in four decades erupted in October when Madrid cracked down on an independence referendum it had declared illegal and took control of the wealthy region.
