Every two minutes. That’s how often Australian police deal with domestic violence. Incidents can easily become fatal, killing children, parents and siblings. Already this year, a reported 66 women have been murdered, many at the hands of their partners. As the government pushes a US $70 million plan to tackle the issue, we look at what’s behind family violence in Australia, and how it can be most effectively addressed.
