#FakeDWPstories: UK Department for Work and Pensions fakes claimant stories
The Department for Work and Pensions has admitted that it used fake quotes from fictional claimants to help advertise sanctions.
The UK Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) admitted Tuesday that it made up stories of fictional claimants reacting positively to benefit cuts in order to advertise its sanctions programme in a pamphlet.
In the pamphlets, fictional characters like Sarah describe how benefit cuts improved their lives.
