The parents of Michael Brown, a black teen who was killed by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri in August, testified before the UN Committee Against Torture in Geneva on Wednesday.

Brown was unarmed when he was shot by officer Darren Wilson, and his death sparked a national conversation about racial profiling and militarisation of police in the US. His parents, along with several advocacy groups, want the international community to pressure the US government to arrest Wilson and investigate the police clampdown on protesters in Ferguson.

A grand jury is set to rule later this month on whether Officer Wilson should stand trial.
