Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu gave his first interview to a Persian-language media outlet over the weekend, the BBC’s Persian Service. In it Netanyahu said, “I think if the Iranian people had freedom, they would wear jeans, listen to Western music, and have free elections”.

Iranians responded with sarcasm, tweeting pictures of themselves wearing jeans, holding MP3 players showing Western music, as well as photos of storefronts selling jeans, using hashtags #IranJeans and #Jeans.
