A yoga programme in a US school is under fire after parents sued the school district claiming the class is preaching religion. Yoga was added as part of a health and wellness programme at the Encinitas School District in the US state of California in 2012. An expert witness in the case claims the form of yoga being taught, Ashtanga yoga, is the most religious in nature. Another issue of contention is the $500,000 donation the school district received from the KP Jois Foundation to start the programme.
