Stalin the Great? Is it possible that history will someday look at one of the world’s most evil dictators as a great leader who brought security, empire and prestige to his people?
Although Joseph Stalin is often held responsible for the deaths of 26 million Soviets, a new picture is emerging, one that reveals a contradictory, flesh and blood human being. The opening of the Soviet archives provides an unprecedented glimpse into the life of Stalin, including the young man’s love letters and unpublished family memoirs.
