Dr Ali Allawi
American opinion of President Bush and the Iraq war are at all-time lows. As Congress and the White House engage in a bitter battle over continued funding for the war, we take an inside look at what went wrong.

Dr Ali Allawi, a former Iraqi Minister of Finance and Defense, is the first senior Iraqi official to offer a thorough assessment of the last four years.

In his new book Winning the War, Losing the Peace he delivers an unsparing review and argues that the Americans exhibited "rank amateurism and swaggering arrogance".  He doesn’t pull any punches for Iraqis either.  But more than criticism and hindsight, Allawi offers a way forward.

We'll ask him if anyone is listening, what lies ahead, if peace is possible and whether or not Iraq will remain intact.
