Ahmed el-Touni

“I’m Ahmed el-Touni. I’m a Sufi singer. 

We start our chanting by praising the Prophet Muhammad and God. This is called Zikr. We chant Zikr and religious supplications all night.  

The Zikr starts with “There is no God but Allah” and ends with “There is no God but Allah”.

I learnt from singers of old, and from the books of Ibn al-Fared, Muhyi al-Din, Burei, and Abu al-Azayem. I know their words very well.”
