Aung San Suu Kyi has come to embody the struggle for democracy in Myanmar.

A Nobel peace laureate, who has refused to leave her country - keeping the plight of its people on the international agenda.

Detained by the junta for much of the past two decades, emotional scenes greeted her release on Saturday.
