Kuwaitis vow to stand united in aftermath of sectarian mosque bombing

Hundreds of thousands of tweets call for solidarity, unity and the defeat of ISIL’s ideology.

Kuwaitis online have reacted with several hashtags to Friday’s bombing of a Shia mosque, which killed at least 27 people and injured more than 200. Using #OneKuwait, #PrayForKuwait and #تفجير_مسجد_الامام_الصادق (“the truthful Imam mosque bombing” which has more than 350,000 uses), many called for unity and condemned the sectarian ideology of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group, which claimed responsibility for the bombing.
