Activists disrupt UK prime minister parliament session to protest disability cuts

Police criticised for aggressive reaction.

A group of activists protested in the British Parliament’s House of Commons on Wednesday, objecting to a planned cut in disability benefits funding. Dozens of protesters, many in wheelchairs, attempted to enter the Commons chamber while Prime Minister David Cameron led a Prime Minister’s Questions session.

Police were able to secure the chamber door, but many are criticising the force used by officers to contain disabled activists. In the video below, officers are seen aggressively pushing protesters’ wheelchairs away.
