New Zealand minister under fire over ‘extravagant’ office spending

New Zealand’s Economic Development Minister, Steven Joyce, faced questions from Parliament on Wednesday about recent purchases by his Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE). Reports revealed the ministry bought a curved LED screen costing over $140,000, a sundeck priced at over $260,000, a $67,000 sign outside the building, and $409 worth of hair straighteners, as part of an initiative to enhance their new main office.
