Kenyans slam government handling of #NairobiFloods

Massive floods expose poor drainage and lack of infrastructure.

Commuters in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, have been paralyzed by widespread flooding throughout the city, following six hours of heavy rainfall on Monday night. Hundred of motorists, including children, spent the night in the cold after their cars got stuck in traffic and floods, according to local reports. The floods are the third weather-related disaster to hit Kenya in the last month, shining a light on the country’s weak urban infrastructure

Nairobi residents complained of power outages, destroyed crops and damaged property, as Twitter users shared dramatic photos of submerged cars and houses.
