Kenyan senator Boni Khalwale is catching heat for reportedly saying security at parliament buildings was compromised by the appointment of a “disproportionate number” of Somali youth as staff. The comment followed the arrest of a senate staffer on the suspicion of being a spy for al-Shabab, the Somali group responsible for the attack that left 147 Kenyan students dead nearly a month ago.
