Chicago activists protest fundraiser to demand #TraumaCenterNow

Demonstrators demanding support for under-served community form human chain outside elite event.

Scores of protesters blocked the streets of downtown Chicago, briefly halting rush hour traffic as they demanded greater medical care for trauma victims in their under-served neighbourhoods.

Police arrested nine demonstrators during the sit-in on Thursday, but they were released by Friday morning.
