Israeli ambassador awards Iran, Palestinian Authority mock UN Oscars
Categories for sarcastic prizes included Best Actor, Best Editing.
Iran, Hezbollah, Saudi Arabia, and the Palestinian Authority were all winners to Israeli Ambassador Ron Prosor on Monday, who sarcastically doled out fake Oscar awards for what he called the UN’s “theatre of the absurd”.
Prosor used categories from the Academy Awards, which celebrated cinematic achievements the previous night. Prizes included Best Actor, which went to Iran for allegedly “acting like a peace loving country while developing nuclear capabilities” and Best Editing, which he awarded to the Palestinian Authority for what he called “rewriting history”.
