
Colorado students cry ‘censorship’ over proposal to remove civil disobedience from US history curriculum
High school students stage walkout after county school board considers shifting focus away from protests in history.
Student protests and intense mocking on Twitter followed a Colorado school district’s attempt to revise its history guidelines. Local news reported that the Jefferson County school board proposed a committee to examine the district’s high school history curriculum, in a move some are calling censorship. County Superintendent Dan McMinimee noted in a statement that “no decisions have been made regarding the curriculum committee”.
