#WhenIndiaSpoketoPakistan on Independence Day

Strangers find common ground across the border in video marking both countries’ national celebrations.

A video featuring Indian and Pakistani strangers chatting with each other on the phone is generating buzz on both sides of the border.

Indian comedy group All India Bakchod and the Pakistani team behind Humans of Karachi collaborated to produce the video marking both nations’ Independence Days, which are celebrated a day apart. The clips attempt to encourage communication between the two countries.

The tongue-in-cheek video description reads: “We found out why Indians and Pakistanis should never talk to each other”. The video warned hatred would be “spewed” and state secrets would be revealed. The conversations, however, showed something different.
