Polish law enforcement officials searched the offices of Wprost magazine twice on Wednesday in a failed attempt to seize the company’s computer files. On Saturday, the magazine published a recording of a conversation between two government officials discussing how they could use public resources to pressure private businesses. The magazine was set to publish more recordings, which prosecutors allege were obtained illegally.
A scuffle between officers and journalists was recorded and shared on Twitter. Some users applauded Wprost’s editor-in-chief Latkowski Sylwester for refusing to surrender his “death grip” hold on his laptop to authorities.
