The Stream dips into slum life inside Argentina’s biggest city.

Buenos Aires’ poorest slums sit across the train tracks from luxury malls, apartments and hotels. Tired of feeling invisible, people living in the shanties are staging a hunger strike in the city’s centre to demand an end to the squalor. At 19:30 GMT Monday, we explore life in the “villas miserias”, neighborhoods of misery, and ask how Argentina and other countries like it are grappling with inequality in urbanization.
